Nate in the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram

Nate is quickly becoming a media star in his home state of Texas. The latest is an article in the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram:

Candidates’ schedules, their latest speeches, evolving positions and money-raising appeals are delivered instantly at the click of a mouse or a swift brush across a touch screen, Wilcox said. Campaigns can put their fingers on the names, addresses and cellphone numbers of supporters and possibly donors in a matter of seconds, and with a minimal investment of dollars, he added.

“To do all that in 1998 would have taken a tremendous amount of resources,” said Wilcox, a consultant with the WebStrong Group, a political organization, and the co-author of a new book, Netroots Rising: How a Citizen Army of Bloggers and Online Activists Is Changing American Politics.

Wilcox said the Democrats have the upper hand in the technology of politics, and the point of the Netroots Nation convention, formerly called the Yearly Kos and now in its third year, is to make sure they keep it. The convention, which continues today, is a fast-paced series of panel discussions and seminars ranging from basic political organizing in the 21st century to how to shout down conservative pundits on cable TV.

Great job, Nate!
